weekend shreds

Well the weekend started out good. It didn't warm up as quickly as they said it would.
Saturday was really really goods, I of course was a lazy asshole and didn't get out of bed til 9 am.
When I knew I had to leave the mountain at 1 pm for Ernie's memorial service. It was a good service, always seems like the good people die.

So the shredding was good, the snow fast the bitches loose beer flowing. Actually just the snow was fast and good. Went back Sunday and it was good till about 1 pm then I kept getting thrown over the handle bars which sucked. All the snow around the yard is almost gone. It is holding on strong on the mountains.

For animals we have had a pileated woodpecker, red bellied woodpecker, a lot of song birds, blue jays and a mated pair of cardinals. The other exciting thing is I saw deer tracks out at the feeder, it was that or laina was out there squatting in the snow again. Some people call them things camels toes.

I bought 50 lbs of feed on the 3rd of january.

Burgulars and 12 pack motivators

I was just thinking about how I would react if we had a burglar, would I be a pussy bitch and throw Chelsea out of the loft to fend him off while I hid under the covers? Or would I rely on my cat to rub on him to pet her and then wait patiently by her food dish. Which no one can resist stopping to feed her when she does that.
I would hope, I would turn into a angry black lady and say things like " ohh no you didn't" and grab a rolling pin.

Or maybe I would summon the power of Pete Johnson.

In order to get enough pure rage to fend off the invader, I would have to imagine crazy scenarios, like say for instance I go into the grocery store, say on a Saturday afternoon and I see some delicious beer. I (being pete) look down and see $9.99, think to myself, seems like a good deal. If it was 12.99 forget it. I throw it in the cart. I know what I am doing. fast forward to the drive home.
My daughter is reading off the list "2.89 for fruit loops", "3.49 for my vagisil", "12.99 for 12 pack of beer". DAMMIT!!! THATS IT RIGHT THERE, PAYING 3 EXTRA DOLLARS ON A 12ver. Beacause thats how the man gets you, just waits for the stu nods to come into the store.....
yea, yea that's it, I would kick that burglars ass now, now I am pissed. The Hulk ain't got nothing on Pete Johnson and getting ripped off on beer.

Just for reassurance I googled "most likely burglar" I got this:
, which is basically what I imagined.
I could kick this guys ass. I will sleep good now google knows everything.

BBC and the cat

Now let make this clear, i am not talking about the highly educational British broadcasting channel. It has been freezing here for the past couple of days, meaning it is not a good idea to let your beloved pets out into the cold. This being said, the cheat likes to be outside and run around. So, it was killing her to lounge around all day.

I have finally been able to lure the birds into the feeders, so far we have the normal everyday birds, chickadees, doves and thrushes. I have seen a cardinal about everyday:

As mentioned above, it was cold and I had to keep the cat inside. We had plenty of birds on Wednesday and the front feeder right outside the french door was being heavily visited from about 5-8 golden thrushes, pretty cool. The cat being the ferocious killer that she is, waited with baited breath just on the other side of the double pane glass window in a fully aroused pounce position.

I have never seen an animal more on the edge of out of control, the only possible scenario that could match the sheer intensity of the cheat that day would be replacing the cheat with Laina and then replacing the golden thrushes with some BBC.

Where was Chelsea during all this? Out cleaning off the car.

The view on Thursday was pretty sweet from Mt Philo Rd.

I wish I was invisible

so today we went to the snowbowl, snow was bountiful, but slow. Chelsea finally got a pair of boots, so that was good. did i mention it was cold, I only lasted 2 hours, not sure how the inuits do it or homeless people for that matter. Time to put another log on the fire by the way.

As we returned to our home we stopped at the mailbox, I being the scholar and gentleman that I am went out into the artic tundra and got the mail as I returned to the automobile, I hand the mail to Chelsea which exclaimed "YEA! we got a movie from netflix" Which was followed by "dammit, we got Invincible!" We of course have seen marky mark go from shitty everyday worker to a shitty cornerback on a shitty team.

But upon further review the actual name of the movie was "The Invisible", which actually is nothing like "Invincible". (sigh) As far as the movie itself and the way the letters are arranged.

see the IMDB to get a idea of what the movie is about
here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435670/

This movie gets a A+ for cliches, overused sterotypes, unoriginality and maybe the largest set of plot holes this side of a Will Smith movie. If he was invisble why was he knocking people over they found his watch 20 feet from where he was hidden and on and on..I can't even remember what else.... Chelsea knew it was shit when he came out of his coma and didn't need any Occupational Therapy. By the 30 minute mark, I was wishing we really got invincible.

Things I likes about the movie
1. the girl was cute
2. Chelsea confused it for Invincible
3. it ended

Things I didn't like
1. the acting
2. the script
3. it showed up in my mailbox

A preview to the proposed run what you brung

Mt Philo Sledding

Well going into my second week off from work I have a had a lot of free time to make things.
(see pic) Living next to Philo has proved to be better than I hoped. originally went to walmarts and bought 3 sleds, they ain't work for shit. So I went to my version of Pier One (recycle north)
and picked up some cross country skis, bolted the suckers to the bottoms of the walmarts sled.

Looks good and hauls some ass.

charles bronson and scott came down for sledding, good day and good conditions. My sled performed above expectations, couldn't have been happier, I felt like I was on the A-team and loved it when a plan came together.

We ended the day with a shitty fire I made , that smoked everyone out, Chelsea added to it by almost cracking her skull open on the moss covered stairs. Good snacks though what else do you want?

Pete Johnson and the twist

Well last night was new years eve. Went to Winooski and played some pong, couldn't beat scamper but that is what practice is for. Had some beers and some jello shots and went home and passed out in the second quarter of madden O8. Pete Johnson on the other hand, went to the Plainfield town dance and forgot how to do the twist, Pete improvised by going down to one knee and doing a air guitar which was good enough to win him first place for "most unique improvisation of the twist" congratulations to Pete.

Now I am not much of a dancer, some rugs have been cut here and there, BUT I personally assumed it was impossible to forget a dance that has a clear and distinct description of the action of the dance, such as
"the twist" but there is Pete showing just another of life's little lessons, never make a assumption , unless of course it involves pete johnson, beer and deer.
